Bangladesh Invests in Children's Future with Modernized Curriculum and Focus on Technology

Dhaka, Bangladesh - In a powerful statement about the importance of education, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced a series of initiatives aimed at nurturing the talents of Bangladeshi children and equipping them for a future driven by technology.

Speaking at the inauguration of National Primary Education Week 2024, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to move beyond rote learning and unlock the hidden potential within each child. "Just reading books is not enough," she stated, highlighting the government's commitment to fostering creativity and innovation through a modernized curriculum.

Technology Takes Center Stage

Recognizing the critical role technology plays in today's world, Prime Minister Hasina unveiled plans to establish computer labs in every primary school across the country. This ambitious initiative builds upon the success of similar programs implemented in secondary schools and underscores the government's dedication to creating a tech-savvy generation.

"We want to develop a population equipped with modern technology knowledge," the Prime Minister declared, expressing her hope that these young minds will become skilled manpower capable of propelling Bangladesh forward.

From Literacy to Space Exploration

The Prime Minister proudly highlighted the significant strides made in literacy rates, which have risen to nearly 78% under her government's leadership. She emphasized the link between education and poverty reduction, stating that an educated population is essential for building a brighter future for all Bangladeshis.

Looking beyond earthly concerns, Prime Minister Hasina shared her ambitious vision for Bangladesh's future, stating, "We have to go to the moon one day. We have to conquer the moon." She pointed to the establishment of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University and an aeronautical research center as concrete steps towards realizing this dream.

Investing in the Future

The government's commitment to education extends beyond technology. Prime Minister Hasina outlined plans to:

  • Expand pre-primary education: Increasing it from one to two years, focusing on play-based learning to nurture young minds.
  • Introduce a community-based school feeding system: Ensuring that children have the nutrition they need to thrive.
  • Continue providing free textbooks: Over 464 million textbooks have been distributed since 2010, removing financial barriers to education.

The Prime Minister's announcements were met with enthusiasm, signaling a bright future for the children of Bangladesh. By investing in a modern, technology-focused education system, the government is empowering its youngest citizens to reach for the stars and build a stronger, more prosperous nation.
