UNDP to Intensify Climate Change Initiatives in Bangladesh, Says Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2024 — Bangladesh's Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, announced today that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is set to expand its efforts in the country to enhance overall environmental and forest development and combat climate change.

At a meeting with a delegation led by UNDP Resident Representative Stephan Liler at the Bangladesh Secretariat, Minister Saber Hossain highlighted the collaboration between the current government and UNDP. The focus will be on implementing the National Adaptation Plan and the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan.

Present at the meeting were Additional Secretary (Development) Dr. Fahmida Khanam, UNDP Assistant Resident Representative Prasenjit Chakma, and other key specialists.
